·         Verghese Kurein, Milkman, Father of white revolution, creator of Amul Cooperatives, brought milk to doorstep of children. You are people’s’ Bharath Ratna’ whether Govt. thought likewise or not..

·         Andy Roddick.. you were best on Court, still better at Press Conferences… we will miss your tennis and  your one-liners..

POLITICS: 

·         It’s the ultimate shame of the times when a Policewoman is kicked, dragged and beaten by Goons in Public. Women C.M.s, UPA Leader, a woman and Top Police are silent on the issue…..A crying Shame indeed!

·         Habits die hard! Who was behind the kicking of policewoman by allegedly Congress workers in Odisha.? Looks like same person who had a similar role during Sikhs massacre some 28 years ago!

·         Shivakashi Fire! Shame on AIDMK and DMK for 1) allowing illegal child labour for decades at a stretch.. and 2) allowing annual fire resulting in death of children year after year.

·         Jawahar Lal Nehru was against article, 124 –A on sedition and wanted it scrapped. He had asked Shankar of famous ‘Shankar’s weekly’ to feel free and criticize him through his cartoons! Now they are arresting cartoonists!!This is the difference in Congress now!

AWARDS:

Dr. Swaminathan, like Dr. Kurien was the Father of Green Revolution under which high yielding wheat and rice was grown in the fields of poor farmers. If we don’t give him ‘Bharath Ratna’, it is country’s loss as it happened in the case of Dr. Kurien. Wake up and act, Govt.!

HEROICS:

·          Yuvraj has hit Cancer for a Six! Way to go Yuvi…

·         Finally England gets a Grand slam winner in Andy Murray after Fred Perry won 76 years ago! Andy beat Djokovich in a near 5 hour battle in US Open.

HEALTH:

·          Naani’s Health Tips:  Drinking half a lemon added to a cup of cold water, thrice a day is a surefire cure for Heart burn.

·         Warbler’s Weekly call: :-( Real elephants have arrived in Mysore for Dasara festivals… Amidst prevailing drought in the State, the ‘white elephants’ from State Assembly have gone to foreign countries for a ‘Study’ Tour!  :-)
